Minot, ND – The Minotauros and Bobcats renew their rivalry for the 125th time Friday night in Bismarck.  The teams will meet in Bismarck both on Friday and Saturday nights as opposed to the usual home-and-home series between the clubs.  The Tauros now 56-55-13 all-time against the Bobats are over .500% point percentage for the first time in franchise history.  It took the Tauros 13 tries to get their first win against the Cats and they have posted a 56-44-12 against the Cats since including a 5-1-0 record this season.

When playing the Cats, as has often been the case this season, Cole Mickel and Huston Karpman have led the way for the Tauros.  Each has nine points in the season series, Karpman with five goals and four helpers and Mickel four goals and five assists.  Zack Simon is also over a point-per-game against the Cats with three goals and four assists against them this year.  As for goaltending Zach Sandy has dominated Bismarck posting a .968 SV% and even 1.00 GAA in his two starts.

Patrick Johnson has been the main driver of the Bobcat offense against the Tauros with four goals through the six meetings.  Jake Mclean, the Cats’ leading scorer, has posted four of his 36 points on the season against the Tauros.  Since the Tauros swept the Bobcats on the final two nights of 2021 the Cats have been played some of their best hockey going 6-2-0 before being swept by St. Cloud last weekend to fall to 6-4-0.

Both Friday and Saturday night’s games start at 7:15 which means the Farmer’s Union Pregame Show will start at 7:00 on HockeyTV, Facebook Live, and the Tauros Hockey App.  After the weekend set the Tauros will return to the Maysa Arena to host the Aberdeen Wings on February 18th and 19th, tickets for both games and all remaining Tauro games can be purchased at tickets.minotauroshockey.com.
