Weekend Preview 2-24-22

Aberdeen, SD – The Minotauros and Wings close out their season set with meetings 11 and 12 this weekend in Aberdeen.  The Tauros are 6-3-1 against the Wings on the season after last weekend’s win and overtime loss on the Pepsi Rink at Maysa Arena; the split not only guaranteed the Tauros a winning record against the Wings but pulled the Tauros within one point of the Wings for third place in the Central.

Huston Karpman continues to lead the Tauros against his old team with three goals and a 11 assists.  Brayden Beahm, last weekend’s hero with Friday’s game tying and Saturday’s game winning goals continues to do big damage against the Wings with goals in eight of the ten meetings.  Lassi Lehti has been strong in goal against the Wings since being acquired from El Paso going 2-1-0 with a .931 SV% and 2.33 GAA.

The Wings are led by the league’s fourth leading scorer Cade Neilson who has 11 of his 56 points against the Tauros.  Ronan Walsh, who was ejected from Saturday’s game for a hit on Cole Mickel, has seven goals against the Tauros this year.  In goal Anton Castro has started five of the last six since joining the Wings from the Fargo Force posting a .907 SV% and 2.96 GAA to for a 3-2-0 record.

Both Friday and Saturday night’s games start at 7:15 which means the Farmer’s Union Pregame Show will start at 7:00 on HockeyTV, Facebook Live, and the Tauros Hockey App.  After the weekend set the Tauros will return to the Maysa Arena to host the Austin Bruins on March 4th and 5th, tickets for both games and all remaining Tauro games can be purchased at tickets.minotauroshockey.com.
