Austin, MN – The Minotauros found a way to win on Friday and continued their Saturday dominance to sweep the Austin Bruins this weekend.  The wins moved the Tauros over the .500 mark for the first time this season and pulled the Tauros just two points behind the Bruins for second place in the Central.

On Friday night (box score) the Tauros opened the scoring with David Nesburg rifling a shot past Klayton Knapp on the rush.  The Tauros dominated the second period outshooting the Bruins 18-10 but managed just one goal, when Sam Saccone flipped a backhander past Knapp.  The Bruins pulled within one in the third when Austin Salani solved Zach Sandy 11:00 into the third but Blake Arneson scored his first as a Tauro into an empty net to seal the 3-1 win.

On Saturday night (box score) the Bruins opened the scoring 4:27 in when Ocean Wallace beat Sandy with a one-timer on the power play.  Just 26 seconds later however the Tauros would draw even with Tom Friden banged home a rebound from the doorstep.  Joe Westlund got the Tauros the lead 3:29 into the second scoring on a wrister from the slot.  Westlund made it 3-1 Tauros early in the third tucking home a rebound.  Colby Joseph at even strength and Zack Simon shorthanded would add insurance goals and the Tauros won 5-1.

Next up the Tauros host the last place Bobcats on Wednesday night.  Aspire Credit Union will be giving away $100 Visa gift cards through the Check-In to Win game on the Tauros Hockey Mobile App.  Tickets are available through the “Tickets” tab atop this page or by clicking here.
