Weekend Preview

Jan 13, 2023

Minot, ND – The Minotauros run of home games continues this weekend with the Aberdeen Wings coming to the Magic City.  The teams split the only other weekend set this season back in late October and have ten meetings remaining in the final 14 weeks of the regular season including this weekend.  The teams enter the weekend separated by just one point in the standings for second place in the Central Division.

The Tauros come in winners of five of their last six coming out of Christmas break.  The offense has been dominant over that stretch posting 26 goals in six contests.  Chase LaPinta and Hunter Longhi have taken the headlines due to record setting streaks and a charge into the top 10 in the NAHL scoring race; but Bryce Howard and Trevor Stachowiak have combined for six goals and eight helpers over the last six contests as well.  Nick O’Hanisain remains a point-per-game player on the blue line for the Tauros and led the Tauros with a goal and three assists against the Wings their last visit to Minot.

The Wings are led by Nikolai Tishkevich who has 11 goals and 12 assists through 31 games played.  In their last trip to Minot their six goals were scored by six different scorers.  Patrick O’Connell led the Wings with a goal and two assists.  Brodrick Williams also had three of his eight points on the season that weekend for the Wings, all assists.

LaPinta’s 10 game goal scoring streak is already a Tauro record and tonight can tie the NAHL record set by Josh Heidinger during the 2005-2006 season.  Similarly, Longhi is on a 13 game point streak with five goals and 16 helpers.  Tonight he can pull even with Kyler Kleven’s 14 game point streak during the 2019-2020 season and then chase the NAHL record of 18 consecutive game with a point.

Doors open both nights at 6:30 for 7:35 puck drops.  Tickets for all three home series are available now through the “Tickets” Tab atop this page or by visiting tickets.minotauroshockey.com.
